“On the Road to Tel-Aviv” is a drama (with comedy elements) that shows how, under the tense reality of war and terror, enemies can sometimes find themselves in the same boat (or in the same bus).

It is a story of a young Israeli who finds himself in a frightening situation when a suspicious looking Arab woman enters the same bus as his fiancée. He then tries to get his fiancée out of the bus without creating too much of a scene, but panic ensues and he must right the situation, as the realities of war, terror, and enemies are exposed.

We first me writer director Khen Shalem and his wife Orit Fisher (producer and actress) in  2009 , when On The Road To Tel Aviv won the Grand Prize at the Angelus Film Festival. Since then we have been honored to host Khen and Orit at several Windrider Forum’s to include Sundance, Bay Area and Colorado Springs.  On The Road to Tel Aviv has been among the most popular Windrider films and has always inspired a lively conversation and Q&A.

Khen Shalem – Writer/Director Shalem grew up in Kibbutz Nir-David in the Beit-Shean Valley. Like all young Israelis he joined the Israeli Defense Forces and served as a lieutenant in a bomb squad patrol unit. His army career was ended when he was badly wounded in a battle in Southern Lebanon. During his scientific research he gradually became aware of his wish to further develop his interest in human feelings and artistic creation. He completed a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production at Florida State University and completed “Road to Tel-Aviv” film just before graduating.

Orit Fisher – Producer/Actress
Orit Fisher grew up in Ramat-Gan, a suburb of Tel-Aviv. She joined the Israeli Defense Forces and served as an Artillery Instructor and as Artillery officer at the rank of Lieutenant.
