2012 Sundance Film Festival
Over 100 students, staff, filmmakers, and guests will converge on the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, for the 8th annual Windrider Forum, January 23-29, 2012. What was launched as an experimental indie project in 2005 has matured into the premiere educational immersion experience at the most important film festival for independent filmmakers.
This year participants will include students from Fuller Theological Seminary, Biola University, Taylor University, Regent University, and BYU. See some of the schedule highlights below.
Monday, January 23rd, 6:00pm – Our Opening Session hosted by the Mountain Vineyard Church (1401 Kearns Blvd)
- Our 2012 Spirit of Windrider Award will be presented to Destin Daniel Cretton, bringing his third film to Sundance, this time premiering a new feature length film, I Am Not A Hipster.
- We will be screening Love Hacking, directed by Jenni Nelson (winner of the Priddy Brothers Outstanding Documentary Award at the 2011Angelus Student Film Festival)
- Special musical performance by Bailey Cooke who will be performing during the week at the Sundance Music Café.
- We will be connecting our students with all of our host families who have generously opened up their homes for the week
Tuesday, January 24th – Friday, January 27th
- Daily class sessions and Filmmaker Q&As. Preliminary Q&A sessions are planned with Ava Duvarnay (Director, The Middle of Nowhere) and Destin Daniel Cretton (I Am Not A Hipster)
- “Is Reel Spirituality A Real Spirituality” presented by Dr. Rob Johnston, Fuller Theological Seminary. Community Forum on Wednesday, January 25th, 7:30-9:00pm, hosted by the Christian Center of Park City (1283 Deer Valley Drive) Open to members of the Park City community. To RSVP go to the link below.

Saturday, January 28th, 5:30pm – Our Closing Session hosted by the Mountain Vineyard
- An evening for gratitude for our host homes and local partners
- An Evening of Angelus. Screening of three award-winning Angelus Film Festival shorts followed by filmmaker Q&A
