Episode 19: What is Our Generation Like?
The New Copernicans eschew black and white thinking, gravitating instead to mystery, complexity, ambiguity, and greyness. They are three-dimensional thinkers, echoing the sensibility of artist Vincent van Gogh who said, “Life is probably round” or better “spherical.” New Copernicans resonate with scientific discovery and spiritual openness. They intuitively sense that the old polarities and partisanship are too constraining. They are uncomfortable with the taken-for-granted status quo readily embracing a contrarian perspective. For them it is more than a negative descriptor, “none of the above,” that they affirm. It is a “vibe” in their bones. They affirm a new approach and attitude toward identity, relationships, and reality.
