Sneak Preview: “Son of God” at Sundance

After a week of dramatic premieres, highly acclaimed documentaries, and daily celebrity sightings, the Windrider Forum will top off a week full of cinematic highlights with a sneak preview of the soon to be released film, Son of God.

From the award-winning producers of the record-breaking miniseries The Bible, Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, comes Son of God, the larger-than-life story of The New Testament, to be released by 20th Century Fox on February 28, 2014. Son of God is a major motion picture that brings the life of Jesus Christ to the big screen like never before.

Mark Burnett, and other members of the filmmaking team, will be present following the screening for a public Q&A.

Told with the scope and scale of an action epic, the film features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and a rich orchestral score from Oscar®- winner Hans Zimmer. Award-winning actor Diogo Morgado portrays Jesus as the film spans from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection. The movie is action-packed with special effects, powerful acting, and beautiful cinematography. It marks the first major motion picture about Jesus’ life since Passion of the Christ, released ten years ago.

Five time Emmy Award winner Mark Burnett has produced more than 2,400 hours of television programming, which regularly airs in more than 70 countries worldwide. Currently, Burnett’s network series include “Survivor” (CBS), “The Voice” (NBC), “The Celebrity Apprentice” (NBC) and “Shark Tank” (ABC). Additionally, Burnett, alongside his wife Roma Downey, executive produced the right rated 10-hour miniseries “The Bible” (History) that premiered on History Channel in March 2013, which is currently airing internationally. A celebrated, Emmy® nominated actress and producer Roma Downey is best known for her nine seasons as the tender-hearted angel on the hit CBS show Touched by an Angel.

Each year the students and guests at the Windrider Forum are recipients of the generous hospitality of the Park City community. In exchange for their hospitality we invite our hosts and the local community to a free screening and a Q&A of an engaging and thought-provoking film. This year, as we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the largest student group to attend the Sundance Film Festival each year, we are honored to host a film event worthy of this momentous occasion.

This FREE screening is hosted by the Windrider Forum, 6:00-9:15pm, Friday, January 24, 2014, at the Stake Center of Park City (2300 Monitor Drive). Members of the Park City community and those visiting town for the 2014 Sundance Film Festival are warmly invited to attend. No RSVP needed. Tickets available at the door, first-come, first-served.
