John Patton Ford, originally from South Carolina, worked as an editor before earning his MFA in directing from the American Film Institute. At AFI, he wrote and directed PATROL, which was selected for U.S. dramatic competition at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, won the Special Jury Prize at the 2010 USA Film Festival, and made the short list for the Academy Awards. Upon graduation he was selected by his peers to speak at the commencement alongside Clint Eastwood.

Since graduating in 2009, John has directed commercials and branded spots for clients including Pepsi, Tide, Nickelodeon, ONE Coconut Water and Pantheon Chemical.
With a passion for fiercely human stories, John believes the strongest work is born not just of great ideas, but out of collaboration.

John lives in Los Angeles
